Obviously inspired from Harry Potter. When I begin designing this model, I simply aim for big claws, the color change was discovered by accident
I deliberately added a pair of ears to make it more anatomically correct.
There are many room for improvements, for example the wing and claws can be bigger. From the creasing pattern it is obvious this model is highly inefficient. The model can be made more efficient if I don't use traditional blintz frog base. Thinking of using my pegasus base. This is the kind of models that looks good once its done but when you fold it you will feel that many paper lengths are wasted.
Any comments about how to improve this model are welcomed
Thank's for the comment
Just by folding no other techniques involved. No decoration, gluing or cutting. I should have mention this in the description part.
The model was folded from a piece of 40cm square duo color tissue foil paper (hand made) and require about 3 hours to finish... well 1 hour if only reach the base, but shaping is so fun I spend around 2 hours on that part.
Thank you for your comment's The paper texture made that aged look, not very good if I want to make a smooth surface, but very good for holding origami models that are thick.
Nice avatar btw
Beautiful!
I adore how you've done the front half of this hippogriff, especially those paws/claws they are so realistic! And the wings are very cool. I also like how the animals has texture by the way of those creases and folds on his body.
The back end looks a tad small compared to the front. I think the horse's hips could be wider, with stronger thicker legs and bigger hooves.
